Good Things // Vol. 1
Psychologically, we can only pay attention to a very limited number of things at one time. This means that we can actively choose what features we attend to, giving us the opportunity to create our world. I choose to view the world through rose-colored glasses, though I have learned that a life without any negative contrast to my beloved rosy view would be a life not fully experienced. Without experiencing some negativity, the rosy glow that I choose to see would be all I saw until it became normal and lost its magic. We can, however, choose to experience our lives with positivity and optimism without discounting the difficulties of life. This is why I am very excited to start a new post series dedicated to sharing good things. I enjoy celebrating everyday life, and I hope this sparks a desire in you to choose to see something simple and beautiful in your life today.
GOOD THINGS: ENJOYING THE MOMENT
I saw these sleepy horses on the edge of Edwards Ranch in Fort Worth. I pulled over my car and walked over to check them out and maybe snap a few photos. Surprisingly, they walked right up to me and let me pet them for awhile. They were so gentle and soaked up the attention I gave them. I don't know if I stood there for 15 minutes or 50, but I'm so happy I spent that time simply enjoying the moment.
